From the April 2001 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter

I was at Floyanne's funeral on February 10 so I was not able to see it, but I understand Richard did a good job with his program on Secure Connections (SSL). February 26 I showed a number of Cool Web Sites which were featured on a recently reactivated feature for the Online I/O Port. At the General Meeting on February 27 Mike Henson gave a very interesting demonstration of NetMeeting. I bet a number of webcams were bought in the days following that meeting.

March 10 we will repeat the program originally scheduled for January 29 on Meta Tags and Web Site Promotion (we had problems with luggie that day, and were unable to do the program). March 26 we will take a look at PCAnywhere, FTP, and Other Internet Client programs.

April 14 Richard will give a program on PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), and April 30 I will do one on Comparison Shopping on the Net. We don't yet have a program scheduled for May 12, but will schedule one soon, however as announced elsewhere in this issue, that meeting may have to be cancelled, because the University may have power off in the entire building. Please check the web site before coming to the meeting, and if the primary web site is not available (sometimes it is down on Saturday due to maintenance on the server), check the backup web site at http://member.apcug.org/tcs/webpage.htm.
