Researching family histories is one of America’s favorite pastimes. Whether you are looking for a simple listing of your pedigree or creating a family tree that records names, marriages, birth and death dates the library is the place to begin your research.

AncestryPlus is an online resource compiled of a variety databases – not only can you find parents, grandparents, and other family members, it is possible to research Civil War records, historical maps, and even Census data. Listed below are some highlights of this extensive reference source.

The Ancestry World Tree contains more than 200 million names in family trees submitted by researchers. The Ancestry World Tree is the largest collection of its kind on the Internet.

The Civil War Research Database project, to date, has digitized, indexed, and interlinked  roster records of 2,100,000 soldiers (out of the approximately 4,000,000 who served), 2,719 regimental chronicles, 1,010 officer profiles, 3,343 battle synopses, and 1,012 soldier photographs.

In the 1930 U.S. Federal Census enter an ancestor's name in the search box to explore the indexed census records. You can limit your search by state, county, township, or other information if known.

The Salem Witches database catalogs the year the accused stood trial, their first and last names, the town or village where the trial took place, and the outcome of the trial (confession, acquittal, execution, escape, etc.).

In the Map Center. AncestryPlus features several hundred historical maps from all areas of the world including helpful jurisdictional maps for every U.S. state.

AncestryPlus is available for in-library use at all libraries in the Tulsa City-City Library system. The newest library in our system, The Genealogy Center, provides a wealth of information for further genealogical studies.
