The meeting started with a music that was produced from the last meeting - a segment from the play Oklahoma!

Richard asked the members if there were any volunteers to run for TCS office this year. Elections are in March and he asked that anyone interested in the running of the club contact him by e-mail.

Richard Hall reviewed security articles with the members. They talked about "social engineering" - or how hackers get information, usually from company employees, before attacking a computer server. The group discussed methods to avoid identity theft and how to protect one's self online. The members reviewed and discussed the following articles from various web pages:

The members also talked about a new Serial ATA hard disk drive coming on the market: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1046951,00.asp

For the remainder of the evening the members discussed index.dat files and how they effect computer security and web surfing history. The group viewed and discussed links found by Don Singleton:

The group looked at the index.dat files on Richard's computer and agreed to take up the computer security issue again at the April meeting.
