NewsWatcher is a powerful Windows RSS reader for people who want personalized news from websites and weblogs fed directly to their desktops. NewsWatcher uses RSS technology to deliver regularly updated feeds from some of your favorite sites, including CNN, Rolling Stone Magazine and Wired. News headlines and summaries are displayed chronologically in a visually intuitive user interface, with features for easy browsing, searching and sorting. NewsWatcher is free. www.newswatcher.com

You can "subscribe" to any or all of the following feeds:

I did a search on "SPAM" and got 6 hits

NewsWatcher also monitors non-technical subjects. Martha Stewart was a big item in the news while I was writing this review, so I did a search on "Martha" and got 5 hits; 4 from Yahoo News and 1 from Christian Science Monitor. As you can tell from the image, you can put the mouse on an item, and a summary of that item appears.

The bombing in Madrid was also a top item in the news while I was writing this review, so I did a search on "Madrid" and got 8 hits; 7 from Yahoo News and one from Christian Science Monitor.
