I was delighted to learn about the turnout for the last WP/DTP meeting. I know the interest is out there to learn more about scanners and knew this would be a wonderful program. Richard Hall and Ken Snitz stepped in at the last minute to fill in as Dolly was going to have to be out of town. I visited with Richard at the General meeting this week and he has offered to do another program for us as there was just too much to cover in one meeting. I couldn't say "Yes" fast enough, so I'll schedule him again for a later date.

For our July 12th meeting I will demo Photo Explorer. This is the free program I sent you an e-mail about last month. This is a great program for viewing and organizing scanned photos, or other multimedia files, clipart, midi, wav, etc., or photos downloaded from a digital camera.

I will also show you a few tools to restore old pictures or just make some of your poorly lighted pictures look better. These tools come in all photo editing programs such as Picture It, PhotoImpact, PhotoDeluxe, etc. I will demonstrate one or two of those as time allows.

As I have mentioned in the past, I plan to change the day of our WP/DTP Sig.and would like to get some input from you. I have scheduled the September and October meetings for the 4th Thursday at the Schusterman Library, 3333 E. 32nd Place. The November meeting will be the 5th Thursday. We will not meet in December. Don has also offered to give us the Windows time slot, the 3rd Monday of the month at TU.

So I am putting it up to the group. Do you want me to change to the 3rd Monday of the month at TU or Thursday at Schusterman, or another library, starting in January? Please let me know as soon as possible because I have to turn in a request for the Schusterman for the year 2001 on August 2.

Hope to see you the July 12.
