General Meeting

At the General Meeting on July 31 Stuart Turley presented a very good program on the current state of Intel products, and an idea of what was coming up the next few quarters.

He described the Pentium 4's NetBurst Micro-architecture with its 400mhz system bus, and discussed why it was better than the Pentium IIIs.

He also gave us considerable insight into the future of wireless networking, both in the office and in the home, describing products that were available right now, and discussing the sort of changes we might see in the near future.

It is always a pleasure to have Stuart speak to us. Originally Stuart was the local Word Perfect Rep, and he frequently spoke both to our Word Perfect SIG as well as the General Meeting. When Novell bought Word Perfect Stuart moved over to Novell, and continued providing us excellent support. When he moved over to work for Intel, things did not change; Stuart still provided us excellent programs related to the microprocessors that are in most of our computers.
