General Meeting

Professor Sujeet Shenoi had to cancel his planned presentation on "Cyber Terrorism." We hope to reschedule Professor Shenoi sometime soon.

Richard reported they had an excellent meeting anyway, with about 12 people in attendance, including Chuck Bell of the Linux SIG. They started building "Luggie III" but did not finish (they did not expect to).

The attendees voted to meet at CompUSA (10111 E. 71st Street) in the future, beginning at 7:00 and running to 8:30.

Chuck Bell of the Linux SIG will do the show next month on Linux. He will distribute two CDs that boot from CD and load Linux in memory but do not install on the HDD. One CD is Knoppix based on Debian, the other is Slackware Live based on Slackware. Both CDs also load a number of programs such as the Mozilla browser, Open Office and the KDE GUI interface. They are nice programs. Richard will explain how to change your BIOS to boot from the CD first, not the HDD.

Don Greer tripped and fell last week, but he is doing OK now. He got out of the hospital at 4:00 yesterday and came to the meeting last night. He still had his wrist tags on. We are all happy that Don Greer is OK.
