General Meeting

About eight members gathered at a CompUSA training area to assist Richard Hall in a major upgrade of a PC. Richard explained that it is very difficult to build or do a major upgrade and to save money. Given the nature of the competition in the PC market, major manufacturers can produce a PC for much less than a person can build one. He said that he had most of the components for the upgrade, but there is a limit on how far one should go to upgrade before cost makes the buying the better option.
And should you decide to just buy a new machine, please remember HelpingTulsa as a place to donate your old computer.

The members gathered around the operation as Richard installed the CPU and memory on the motherboard. The motherboard assembly was then installed in the case and the wires connected to the motherboard from the power supply. The approaching store closing time prohibited the upgrade from continuing. Mike Sheehan agreed to demo the new Microsoft Acrylic Beta drawing program at the next TCS General meeting. Richard said that he would keep the group informed about the hardware upgrade and do a computer news segment as a feature for future meetings.
