Richard asked the club members if they wanted to have a December meeting. The group said they would like to review the new Foxfire browser at the December 28, 2004 meeting. They also said that they would like to discuss computer ergonomics at the January 25, 2005 meeting.
Richard reviewed two spyware articles on the CD that he had distributed. One of the articles had recommended that computer users use two spyware scanners to do a complete job. Richard demoed Spybot Search and Destroy program and informed the group about additional features of the program that could be accessed through the Mode/Advanced Mode dropdown menu. He deleted some data files and folders with the Spybot Secure Shredder program and compared that feature with the Norton Utilities / System Maintenance / Wipeinfo program.
Richard installed a copy of Webroot Spy Sweeper program on his luggable computer. The group compared features of Spybot and Spy Sweeper.
