At the Access meeting on November 3 Betty presented a problem with records coming up in the wrong sequence in a report - number 10 came between 1 and 2; the solution was to change the type of the field containing the number to "number" rather than "text".

Danny had a question about a picture field that was referenced as a background for a report, when the MDB and its graphic were moved from one directory to another. The solution was to remove the path information, and just refer to the graphic file, and put it in the same directory as the MDB file.

Richard showed a solution to a problem he presented the previous month, in an application ported from Access 2 to Access 8. It seems that when a new form was displayed, it came up in normal format, rather than maximized. The solution was to create a macro called max which contained a maximize command, and reference it in the "On Activate" field of the properties for the form.

Jenny showed a simple solution she developed to get Neighbor for Neighbor started on their contribution system. When a contribution is entered, an automatic Thank You letter is generated, then the new contribution record is appended to the contribution table, and deleted from the temporary new contribution table.
