Internet Meeting
by Don Singleton
Tulsa Computer Society
From the December 1999 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter
At the October 26 Internet Meeting we gave a review of the difference between things one could do
on any web page, and things which required dedicated space on a Web Server where one could either
install the necessary CGI/Perl Scripts themselves, or at least have them installed for them.
John Gilchrist announced that he will be putting up a web server with a Shopping Cart system for
his Health Supplement business, and that if others were interested in running their own
Web Store, with a shopping cart package, or just a fancy web page needing specific Perl/CGI
Scripts not available at many ISPs, they could get a site with up to 60 products for their
shopping cart for $30 a month (additional products are available for 50 cents each, per month).
If you are interested call Don Singleton at 622-3417 or email at don@donsingleton.com.
There will be no Super Saturday meeting on November 14, because of the Microsoft eXtreme Event at the Woodland Hills Cinema.
On November 30 we will be covering Real Audio and Real Video, and on December 19 we hope to take a look at Visual Interdev and updating a database from a web page.
