Our October meeting was going to be a "jam session", but all of the other "jammers" could not make it out, so we had a discussion on various MIDI topics. We had a really great turnout, too, with around a dozen people wanting to hear MIDI music. Most everyone that attended picked up a few pointers as to which sound card and speakers to use for good music, and where to go to get some good programs for recording, printing, and just playing music.

The November meeting will be a presentation on CD-ROM Burners. We'll look at CD-Recordable and CD-ReWritable discs. Just in time for Christmas, these devices are very affordable and allow you to make great presents, by creating a multimedia CD with music and pictures for your family and friends.

At the December meeting we will take another look at MIDIScan, a program that allows you to scan sheet music into your computer, turn it into a MIDI file, then transpose it or re-arrange it and print it back out. Come on out and join the fun at the Harmon Foundation, 2901 S. Harvard, on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
