TCS - Refurbishing Computers
Refurbishing Computers

From the December 1999 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter
At the Refurbishing Computers meeting on October 23, we finished the last of
of the five 486s networked together we were putting together to send to
Jim in Belieze (when he gets them the Belieze government will provide a
free internet connection to the Belieze Bible and Trade School, which
should be absolutely revolutionary in that country. We still are trying
to locate enough thin coax, screwon connectors, etc to cable them up, so we
can check them out as a network before sending them down to Belieze, which
will probably happen in late December when Jim comes to the US for a visit.
At the meeting on October 30 we received several deliveries of hardware, and
did some work trying to get a CD working in a machine, but unsuccessfully.
We really could use some more people to work on the units. If you are interested
in learning to repair computers, please join us on the 1st, 4th, and (if there
is one) 5th Saturday of the month, at 10:00 am (until we get tired, usually
around 1pm, but sometimes later) at the Bethesda Boys Ranch. See
