No place in the Tulsa area is better for doing research on careers, investigating job opportunities, preparing your resume and getting ready for a job interview than your local library!

In our Online Research Center in the Business & Finance section we have several guides for those seeking employment under Career & Job Hunting Resources. Here’s you’ll find these guides with links to appropriate web sites, books, magazines and other library materials, as well as suitable online databases to which the library subscribes.

LearnATest is a great source for test preparation materials and interactive practice exams based on official tests for jobs in fields such as EMS, postal work, cosmetology, civil service, and teacher certification. If you’re in school or have children in school you might find the graduate school entrance exams and college prep materials useful, as well as standardized exams for grades 4 and 8, and the GED 2002 practice test. To use LearnATest you must set up a free account for yourself on a library computer using your library card number; after that you can access this resource from both in and outside of the library taking as many practice exams as you like!

If you’re interested in a particular field you might check the library’s Tulsa Organizations & Services database for local professional associations such as the Business Marketing Association, American Society of Landscape Architects, the National Association of Black Accountants, and American Women in Radio and Television.

To see a list of our complete online database collection visit Online Databases of Magazines, Newspapers, and More.

If you don’t have a library card you can apply online or visit your neighborhood library. For more information about joining the library family visit How to Get a Library Card.

To check out the programs being offered this month visit your local library and pick up a copy of the Library Calendar of Events or check out our online database of events.
