From the February, 2005 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter

Richard Hall introduced Dr. Ryan Marshall, DC, who presented a slide show on computer ergonomics. Dr. Marshall told the group how to reduce the odds of getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and how to sit at a computer so as not to stress the back. Dr. Marshall used a scanner to examine member Carl Mayrath for neck tension.

Richard Hall discussed freeware and shareware photo editing programs. He first started with the tools in Windows Explorer and enhanced some digital photos. He and the group then explored the tools in the new and free Google Picasa 2 program. Richard then did a short demo in the commercial program Adobe Photoshop Elements. The group did not demo the freeware IrfanView or the open source Gimp. Richard distributed a CD with the software and the group agreed to look at IrfanView and Gimp at the February TCS General Meeting.
