Flat
Printed in the February 1999 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter
A Computer salesman, computer hardware engineer and a programmer were driving in a car. The car gets a flat. The three get out and try to solve the problem: Computer saleman says "Clearly we need a new car". "No", says the hardware guy, "lets just rotate the tires with the spare until the problem is fixed". But the programmer says "Let's just get back in, drive for a while and see if the problem goes away".
Then they put in the call to tech support, and the engineer calls back two weeks later and says, "I've driven my car 500 miles, and I can't reproduce your problem, so I closed out your service call."
... and Bill Gates says, "Let's close all the windows, get out, get back in, and see if that fixes it."
