Midi Music and Multimedia SIG

From the January 2000 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter

We had 20 people at the November meeting, which is another good turnout. This meeting was for beginners in MIDI and computer music. We talked about different sound cards for your computer, and simple MIDI keyboards that can be purchased for around $200 at local stores. We looked at various software packages, from sequencers and MIDI players, to educational programs and other fun stuff.

The December meeting will be a review and tutorial on how to use a sequencer program (such as PowerTracks Pro) to make music on your computer. The January meeting will be about CD writers, and I'll burn some CDs for people to take with them of several thousand MIDI files. Come join the fun at the Harmon Foundation, 2901 S. Harvard, on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
