We had two rows of seats blocked off for the volunteers at the back of the theater, because they were going to be required to get up 15 minutes into the show to collect the raffle tickets, and 15 minutes before the show ended to get setup to hand out the beta copies, but some totally selfish people took down the cord blocking off the seats to take them for themselves. It was not that there were no other seats left in the auditorium, there were plenty, but these people just must have decided that they were more important than the people working the show. On the other side of the theater the sound man had placed some of his stuff on a special chair the theater provided for him, and I understand several people wanted to be allowed to move his stuff so they could sit in his chair, and force him to stand up for the whole show. Tulsa, how thoughtless and selfish can you be?
Fortunately these were the exceptions, and most of the attendees were very fine, well behaved people, and I believe that all enjoyed the presentation.
If you were not able to make it, or if you want to review what you saw, you can view the show on the Internet via NetShow at http://www.microsoft.com/extreme/ We expect to receive a video tapes of the 2-hour broadcast from Microsoft before the end of the year, so if you would like for us to schedule a showing of this tape at a meeting in 1999 please let me know.
