I would also like to urge more people to come to meetings. There is a lot to be learned by reading the I/O Port, but you can learn so much more by attending meetings. Beginners are welcome at all meetings, although the Getting Started Class is specifically focused on the beginner. Some of the meetings are really for the advanced user; the access meeting is a good example of this -- people bring access database problems they are having trouble with, and several experts will bat ideas back and forth until they come up with a solution to the problem. Most of the meetings are targeted more at the intermediate user, and questions from beginners are always welcome.
If you want to learn, come to the meetings. If you want to help others to learn, come to the meetings, and offer suggestions when questions are posed. If you feel you have something you could show the group, please let the sig leader know, and I am sure he/she will be happy to schedule a time when you can present it to the group.
