Despite Richard forgetting to e-mail a notice to of the meeting to the members, there were about 12 in attendance. The expected speaker for the evening did not make it to the meeting so there was a question and answer discussion of computer security and a number of other topics.

The group talked about future meetings and vendors' requests to do presentations. While some of the group will take a short vacation in July, some members said they would come to the July meeting to hear a business security vendor discuss software.

Richard told the group of his experience with the Sasser worm. He said the firewall on a his mother's laptop was not working when he got onto the internet to update windows and anti-virus software. The worm got on the computer while the update was being done. The worm was easily fixed and no damage was done. He warned the group to keep their systems and AV software up to date.

The group talked about alternative operating systems, internet browsers and e-mail clients as a security tactic.

Richard discussed a PowerPoint add-on program called Producer that is available from here. One member asked for a copy of the CD that Richard had downloaded.

The group talked about removable Hard Disk Drives. Richard explained how his computer is set up with such a drive that allows him to quickly switch between operating systems and data drives. Don Greer took pictures throughout the meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 8:35
