Have you ever wondered where the center of the universe is located? Maybe you're curious about whether The Bank of Oklahoma Tower or the First National Tower is taller. The award winning Fast Facts Online database, created and maintained by the Tulsa City-County Library, has the answers to these questions and many more.
To access the database from the library's homepage click the Research Tools icon and then select Fast Facts Online.
Search Fast Facts by keyword, by question and by entering a specific source. All record entries are in the form of a question beginning with who, what, where, why, or how, and include the complete answer, the source material, and in come cases a link to a Web site to direct you to further information.
Fast Facts Online is interactive and free to the public.
Tulsa Organizations and Services
Another special database is Tulsa Organizations and Services (TOS). Use TOS to find Tulsa-area clubs, support groups, professional societies, social service agencies, parks, speakers, and so much more.
The power of Web-enabled accessibility makes it easy for every customer to mine the content of this robust database. TOS is fast, efficient and works essentially the same as our Catalog and Fast Facts Online. Learn to use one of these databases, and you have learned to use all three.
Let's find and use TOS.
To access TOS from the Use this database to begin searching, Tell Us About an Organization to suggest an entry for the database, Find Meeting Rooms in the Area, or Find GED Resources in the Area.
'Use this database' presents you with three search options: Name of Organization, Subject and Keyword.
Each record entry includes the organization or agency's name, address, phone and fax numbers, and if applicable a contact. If a group has a Website a link is provided. Records also include information about the group's activities and events, speakers, hours of operation and more!
TOS is available free of charge to anyone with Web access.
