Keystrokes to Control Program Manager

ALT, LETTER

Press and release the ALT key and then press the ___ underlined letter. This action opens a menu without choosing a command.

ALT+LETTER

Press and hold down the ALT key as you press the ___ underlined letter. This action opens a menu or selects an option in a dialog box.

ALT+ESC

Activates the next application window or icon on the desktop. Pressing ALT+ESC does not restore icons into windows.

ALT+TAB

Activates the next application window or icon. Restores icons into windows. Only the application's title bar or a box displaying the application's name shows until you release ALT+TAB, making it faster to cycle through application windows than to use ALT+ESC.

ALT+SHIFT+TAB

Activates the previous icon or application. Restores icons into a window. Only the application's title bar or a box displaying the application's name shows until you release ALT+SHIFT+TAB.

CTRL+TAB

Activates the next document window (if an application has multiple document windows open).

CTRL+TAB

Activates the next group window within Program Manager.

CTRL+ESC

Displays the Task List window, from which you can activate an application by selecting from a list of currently running applications.

ALT+SPACEBAR

Selects the Control menu for the active application icon or window so that you can control the location, size, and status of the window.

ALT+HYPHEN(-)

Selects the Control menu for the active document window within the application window so that you can control the location, size, and status of the document window.
