LDS Computer Fair

I helped Mike Henson with one of the seminars at his LDS Computer Fair on September 13; he had me do my program on using the Applets that are provided with each Windows system sold. It turns out that Mike saw the presentation I gave on them about a year and a half ago at a general meeting (the program was called Use What You Got), and he decided he wanted to share those ideas with the people at his church, the Church of Jesus Christ and Later Day Saints, or LDS, and when he thought about doing that program, he thought about doing another program as well, and then another, until he had come up with a complete Computer Fair, and this is the second year he has held it.

We ran an article on the LDS Computer Fair in the September paper, but we just listed it on the calendar for the October issue, since the October issue came out just before the date of the Fair. Monday after the fair I got a call from Long Distance Savers wanting to know what this LDS Computer Fair was all about -- they had not heard anything about it. I explained to them that the Mormon Church used those initials too, and I thought they had been using them a bit longer than their company.
