We also had a question of how does one import a spreadsheet file into access, and that was simple too. Open a new database (or select the database you want to import the spreadsheet into), click File, Get External Data, Import, then with the file window locate the spreadsheet to be imported, being sure to click the "Files of Type" and selecting Microsoft Excel (*.xls), and this activates the Import Spreadsheet Wizard, at which time you select the worksheets or named ranges you want to import, click next, indicate whether the first row contains column heading names or not, click next, select whether to create a new table, or select the table you want to import into, click next, if you want you can select just particular fields, choose the primary key or let access create one for you (just numbering each row), name the table, and click Finish to complete the import.
If you have an Access problem, just bring a copy of the database, on floppy, ZIP disk, LS-120 Super Disk, or CD, to the next Access meeting, March 7, 7:00 pm, at the Schusterman Benson Library, 3333 E 32nd Place, and we will all do what we can to come up with a solution to your problem.
