Dolly had some time to experiment, and she was able to reproduce the problem, and after a little effort, I was able to reproduce it on my machine. If you have a folder on your desktop, type in the name of that folder in the Address Field. I had a My Documents folder on my desktop, so I typed "My" space and suddenly I had a choice of My Documents and My Computer, and when I selected My Computer, all of the drives on my computer were on the dropdown box. See the attached photo for proof.
I told her she did not need to worry, all of her computer files were not on the internet for the world to look at, but I was surprised that IE5 behaved that way. For your information, I was not able to duplicate this problem with Netscape
There is one potential problem which might make files on your computer available across the Internet, and that is if you have a Local Area Network in your home, where several computers are tied together, and you have activated sharing to allow you to access the files from any computer, then if you signup for ADSL or Cable Modem support, where your computer is connected all the time, you need to make certain you install a Proxy Server or some other firewall to permit outside users from accessing your computer's shared files.
One thing which I would recommend you try, and that is go to Gibson Research Corporation (http://grc.com/default.htm) and click on their test for Shields Up and see how accessable your computer is to the outside world. I am pleased to say that my computer running on my Cable Modem, is more secure than it was running on a dial up modem connection.
