Just pop in the CD, and go, right?
Wrong! If you've installed a version of Internet Explorer that didn't
come with your original CD, just popping in the CD and starting over
may cause a real mess.
Here's Microsoft's official word on exactly how to reinstall
Windows98 (and Win98SE) in a way that avoids problems with different
browser versions.
There is a relatively new & efficient solution available
that is free and works like a champ. They
give you an address (whatever@mailexpire.com) which will
forward all mail to your real address (or wherever) for
either 12 hours, 24 hours, 7 days or a month.
After that your mailexpire address becomes non-existent,
leaving would-be spammers out in the cold. The only
drawback is that the mailexpire addresses are assigned, not
chosen, making them somewhat hard to remember. My current
mailexpire address is nck95kzj9u@mailexpire.com (to give
you an idea).
You could keep a sticky note on your monitor with mine & use it
whenever you must give an e-mail address to any potential
spammer, on Usenet or in chat rooms. (And 'update' your Mail
Expire weekly or monthly).
And if you really want to remain private, if need to reply to a
registration type of thing, you can
head off to ( http://welcome.to/mailto ) , a web based
remailer & use your mailexpire address as the return to.
With mailexpire & some creative filtering you can reduce your
spam mail to almost nothing.
A very cool and highly-categorized part of the CoolQuiz Network, Poster Quiz
challenges you to test your memory and knowledge of popular movies by identifying
the posters that accompanied their theater release. Several genres are covered,
including Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama, and of course, Horror flicks. You may
have to leave a little extra time for each poster graphic to download, especially on
slower connections, but you have up to three wrong guesses before you're done - so
the game can go on for quite a while. Fun and challenging, PQ is a great way to test
your movie knowledge!
Also billed as the "Newsroom Home Page", Assignment Editor is a virtual one-stop

If you want to get an idea about what the hot
political issues and legislative agendas will
be this year for your state, check this out.

Intent on displaying "humanity at human proportions" via the Internet, the Youdraw
Project is a fun, interesting and interactive means of allowing each of us to visualize
how large a number 6 billion (the estimated population of the Earth at this writing)
really is. Users are encouraged to log on and use a Java-based "sketch pad" to create
their own individual stick figure drawing. The site hopes to collect a total of 6 billion of
these miniature drawings as an example of the world's current population.

use.
Brought to you by the Columbia University New Media Workshop, Stress, Inc. offers
up a unique look at the "Commerce of Coping" - the incredible sums of money, weird
stories and indelible stain on society that the commercialization of stress has created.
Check out several well-written essays on how stress has been commercialized in the
worlds of advertising, publishing, pharmaceuticals, fitness, and more. To allow to
unwind after all that "stressful" reading, the site provides some respite in the form of
games and quizzes.
Keeping in mind that hardly anything that's
free doesn't want something back from you,
often in the form of personal information,
nonetheless, this is a subject guide to free
stuff for grownups and kids -- posters,
games, e-mail, home pages, clothes,
sweepstakes, etc.
Here's a great idea we really wish we'd thought of - an online Domain Name
After-Marketplace. Log on and check out the bidding as website owners take their
unwanted domain names (which, in the ".com" category at least, are a very rare
commodity) and allow new users to bid on the rights of transfer for that name. From
businesses to wacky phrases, once you become a member you can log in an bid on
potential domains as they become available - whether they interest you as possible
sites or you want to own the rights so you can around and clear a profit yourself.
In case you ever suspected there was more to those horror stories about
lawsuits like the McDonald's scalding coffee case, check this out. This
attorney, in association with the Trial Lawyers of America, tells you the full
