Music Ace is a fun, engaging and non-judgmental music education software program designed by Harmonic Vision to provide an introduction to music fundamentals for beginning music students, both young and old. Following the friendly direction of Maestro Max and his choir of singing notes, users participate in a series of 24 comprehensive lessons, play a variety of challenging games, and easily compose their own music on a unique Music Doodle Pad.
The 24 self-paced lessons help to develop and reinforce fundamental music skills and an understanding of music theory. Each lesson has 4-5 sections to complete before that lesson is done. The Progress screen allows you to track your progress through the lessons and games. A "completion count" provides the number of times you have gone through each section of a lesson, and "games progress" provides high scores for the games.
The Music Doodle Pad is a neat feature that allows you to compose your own music using a variety of instrument sounds. Your compositions can be saved and played back for others, showing your knowledge and skills acquired from the lessons and games. You can also listen to and modify several supplied songs from the Jukebox section of the Music Doodle Pad.
Music Ace has a list price of $49.95. It requires Windows 3.1 or higher, 8MB of RAM, and 12MB of Hard Disk space. A MIDI keyboard is optional. There is also a Macintosh version available. To order, or receive a free demo copy of the program, call Harmonic Vision at 800-644-4994, or see their web site at www.harmonicvision.com.
