The Linux Sig will now meet on the Last Saturday of each month at 10:00 am at Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St., Tulsa, OK 74133. Click here for a map.

Going south on Memorial, go through the intersection at 91st and Memorial. At Memorial and 93rd there is a left turn lane, turn left. Go one block east. Going north on Memorial, turn right on to 93rd Street and go one block. If you are coming to Hardesty using the Creek Turnpike or Highway 169, take the Memorial exit. Go north on Memorial (approximately one block) to 93rd Street and turn right. Go one block east.

Program ideas are still in flux, but one thing being considered is an install FEST - a tutorial on how to install and configure SUSE, RED HAT, or SLACKWARE where the presenter will bring a box to install one of them on. Also, if attendees would like to bring their own box to install Linux on, he will bring 4 monitors. This way, they will only have to bring a keyboard, mouse, power cables, and the box. Also, we can show them how to configure the monitor for when they get home and use their own.

The presenter would recommend Suse for newbie's. Simply because of how user friendly it is and all the software it comes with. He will have it on his system which he will bring. He will also bring my networking equipment and cables.

Another idea is to offer "classes" on "how to" do things in Linux, in the future.

Another idea is to get a demo on several open source software programs that would hook new people in wanting more, to come again; programs such as the BLENDER, OPEN OFFICE, GAIM, XMMS, GIMP, MOZILLA, etc.
