Finding government information the Internet can often be a fairly tedious task. The Tulsa City-County Library's Government Documents Librarian, Suzanne Sears, has put together a comprehensive Web page with links to Federal, State and City government Web sites.

Start at www.tulsalibrary.org/govdocs/ to for the FAQ section which includes links and information to obtain a new or replacement Social Security card, locate military records, find information on a doctor in Oklahoma and acquire a map of the school districts in the state.

"Oklahoma Government Links" www.tulsalibrary.org/govdocs/okgov.htm provides access to a number of State sites and Internet services including the Legislature and Supreme Court, the Oklahoma Public Legal Research System, and Sooner Search.

"United States Government Links" www.tulsalibrary.org/govdocs/usgovlinks.htm is a nice gateway to federal government resources and Web pages.

One of the highlights of the government document pages is the "Government Sites for Kids" section www.tulsalibrary.org/govdocs/kidsdocs.htm. Many state and federal agencies have developed Web pages just for kids-the NOAA, Treasury Department, Department of Justice and FBI to name a few. Most of the pages are educational in nature, but are definitely put together for children. Geography Learning Site, Working with Maps, Chronology of U.S. Historical Documents, OK Kids and White House for Kids are just of few of the Web sites you can gain access to from this section.
