TCS - Web Page for Email-only Users

Web Page for Email-only Users

by Lloyd Colston

From the October 1998 issue of the I/O Port Newsletter

An Internet company in Germany is offering FREE web pages to the first 500 email-only users to request them.

Applicants will receive a 100kb account to put their webpages on the net at http://trial.wireworm.com.

The application form can be obtained via email from trial-accounts@wireworm.com.

A FAQ on how to upload files using the wireworm.com email upload tool, which process mime attachments or uuencoded files is available from upload-howto@wireworm.com.

Information about commercial accounts is available at email-only@wireworm.com or at http://www.wireworm.com/english/

The author found the service to be quite a nice idea since well over half of all Internet accounts are email only. However, the interface is not as handy as live access.

The fact that one can upload a page by email is quite interesting. How difficult it is to do remains to be seen. The author has emailed the service provider and received, up to this point, excellent customer service.

So all TCS members who need a web page and can never find the library open to create your own have no excuse, thanks to wireworm.com
