Whether you're looking for your next good read or wanting to wax enthusiastic about your favorite book or author you'll enjoy the Readers' Services Department's Web page feature, "You're the Critic" at www.tulsalibrary.org/readers/critic.htm.
You can use this site to find out what other Tulsans are reading and to e-mail the Readers' Services staff your reading recommendations for both fiction and nonfiction.
The Readers' Services Web page includes links to Web sites for book lovers with access to book reviews, awards, recommendations, author interviews, and much more.
Another reader's guide resource available at the library is NoveList. NoveList is an electronic reader's advisory resource that assists fiction readers in finding new authors and titles.
NoveList is available at all Tulsa City-County Libraries for in-house use only. From the library's Web page click on the link "Sources for Doing Research" to reach NoveList.
The NoveList database includes lists of recent bestsellers, award winners, and favorite reads for younger readers.
Catchy subcategories like comic capers, elderly rogues, and Native American & Latino detectives further enhance the basic genres like Mysteries and Thrillers. The Science Fiction subcategory list includes social criticism, parody, science fantasy, computers and automation, and alien beings.
To find a good book your best bet is always your public library!
