I am a little late in reporting on our May MIDI meeting. We had 10 people at the meeting, where
Mel Sutter brought out one of his player pianos. Mel gave an excellent history of player pianos,
and how they are put together and how they operate. He brought out a box full of piano rolls, and
played several songs for us. He also played some songs himself, and let me tell you - he is a
very good piano player!
We did not meet during June, July, and August. We are starting our meetings this month, with the
first one on September 18, where we will be talking about a really inexpensive ($15) MIDI
notation program that I think you will enjoy. Mel Sutter will be coming out again to our October
meeting and he will bring another piano player with him. Come join the fun at the Harmon
Foundation, 2901 S. Harvard, on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
