The Computer Fair will be held at the LDS Church located at 12110 E. 7th. Here's how to get there: From Garnett and I-44, follow the access road along I-44 going East until you come to 7th street.
There will be about a dozen different mini-classes and exhibits covering a wide range of topics. Some of the topics will include the following: Introduction to Computers - For the beginner, this class describes the parts of a PC and how they are used. They will define what to look for when buying a PC, either new or used.
Using the Internet - Getting started by selecting an Internet Service Provider. Review of popular Web Browsers, Web search programs and Web sites to visit, limiting access for your children, making your own Web page, and using E-Mail.
Windows Tips & Tricks - Little-known tips you can use with Windows. Also how to use the various programs and utilities that come free with Windows.
Music on the PC - An introduction to writing and playing music on the PC, both with and without a sound card. How to record and play music with a MIDI keyboard. Printing in standard music notation. Auto-song generators and Karaoke on the PC.
Family Programs & Graphics - How to develop and print family newsletters, calendars, and Birthday and Christmas cards. Review of other fun Windows programs.
Genealogy - An overview of popular genealogy programs. Where to look to gather information.
Games - Various games to look at and play. This will also be open for the kiddos to keep them occupied while you attend the other classes.
