Kids on the Net:
Tips for Parents to Promote Responsible Use of the Internet

To help ensure that children have a safe and rewarding experience online, the Tulsa City-County Library is sponsoring a workshop to educate parents and other adults about the Internet. The workshop, "Kids on the Net: Tips for Parents to Promote Responsible Use of the Internet," is offered in conjunction with the American Library Association's (ALA) "America Links Up," a national teach-in to educate parents, children and others about the Internet.

At the workshop participants will receive a copy of ALA's publication "Librarian's Guide to Cyberspace," as well as library-produced Internet tip sheets. The workshop focuses on the benefits of children using the Internet and gives tips on how to surf the Net safely.

The workshop is scheduled on Wednesday, September 16 at Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue, 596-7977, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m.; West Regional Library, 2224 West 51st Street, 591-4366, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; Hardesty South Regional Library, 6737 South 85th East Avenue, 250-7307, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; Martin East Regional Library, 2601 South Garnett Road, 669-6340, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; and Rudisill North Regional Library, 1520 North Hartford, 596-7280, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
